Some of our clients at The Massage Zone have various questions. This typically involves their choice of massage treatment and what happens before, during and after.

We hope the Q & A Zone helps answer these questions. If you have any further enquiries, please don’t hesitate to call our office in Joyner or email Ailsa.

What massage treatment should I have?

The Treatment Menu page describes all of our available massage treatments.

Please note, there are conditions that are contra-indicated for massage or that require your doctor's approval before treatment. If you are unsure,
please ring or email.

What do I wear to my treatment?

What you wear will depend on the treatment you have and the area being treated. However, we suggest comfortable, relaxed clothing.

For a relaxation or hot stone massage, you will be required to undress down to your underpants and lay face down on the table, covered with a large bath sheet. During the massage, the area to be treated will be undraped and redraped when completed.

For a remedial massage, it will depend on the area being treated, but in most cases will be the same as a relaxation massage.

What happens when I arrive for my appointment?

You will be required to complete a comprehensive health history form, including consent for treatment. This enables your therapist to formulate the best treatment plan for you.

Please bring any doctor's reports or images, if relevant to the treatment. For your comfort, we recommend not having a large meal within two hours of treatment time.

What happens after my treatment?

Once treatment is complete, your therapist will leave the room while you get dressed. Payment is then made and a receipt issued.

Please ensure you drink plenty of water after your treatment (about an extra litre) to help your body flush out the toxins and wastes released.
